Voice is an acronym for Victorious Overcomers in Christ Everyday. This is a 10 week class specifically designed for the VICTIMS of domestic violence.
- We are convinced that there is no excuse for abuse and that no one should suffer from an abusive relationship.
- We also believe that you can find the help and the skills to improve the quality of your life.
- We also believe that marriage and intimate relationships should be a place where partners experience: protection, affirmation, encouragement, support, trust, freedom, love, honesty, grace, integrity, peace, self control, respect, responsibility, consideration and similar benefits.
The duration of each class is two hours and fifteen minutes long, which is divided into two parts. Part one, consists of forty five minutes of Life Skills Study which strengthens the personal development of each client as an individual, followed by Part Two, which consists of one hour and thirty minutes of intensive curriculum learning how to deal with an abusive relationship have access resources for safety and attain emotional and personal stability and guidance. The client can then draw upon every resource to manage their life in a safe and productive way.
Curriculum
Lesson 1: Understanding Domestic Violence: Power and Control Issues.
Goal: Recognize the prevalence, types and process of abuse. Identify abusive patterns present
in your won relationship.
Lesson 2: Safety and Self-worth—Two Priorities
Goal: To asses your level of safety and measure your self-worth. To apply safety procedures to your life and build self-worth.
Lesson 3: Safe Relationships
Goal: To understand the need for safe, healthy relationships and identity the roles people play in unhealthy relationships. To apply biblical principles which promote healthy relationships.
Lesson 4: Building Healthy Communication
Goal: To improve communication skills in order to effectively express feelings, opinions, needs and requests.
Lesson 5: Codependency and Boundaries
Goal: Identify codependent behavior and incorporate boundaries in relationships. Begin to
take steps to care for self.
Lesson 6: Understanding Submission and Headship
Goal: Identify the biblical teaching of headship and submission in marriage. Apply the
principles of love, respect and boundaries to your relationships.
Lesson 7: Managing Anger in Relationships
Goal: Identify anger, triggers for anger. Apply strategies for managing anger.
Lesson 8: Conflict and Collaboration
Goal: Assess your style of conflict management. Apply negotiation skills for managing conflict with others
Lesson 9: The Power of Forgiveness
Goal: To learn that forgiveness is possible and a vital part of resolving anger. To identify
someone, especially your spouse, with whom you need to forgive and begin the process of
forgiveness.
Lesson 10: Moving Forward
Goal: Identify how your life has changed. Apply interventions to develop and improve safety, faith, self-care and enhanced relationships

Total days will be 13 = 1 day for registration and Orientation (Mandatory)
Your course will start the Tuesday following Registration/Orientation.
